½teaspoonground cinnamon
¼teaspoonground nutmeg
1tablespoonbutter
Optional glaze: egg yolk beaten with 1 teaspoon of wateror 1 tablespoon half-and-half cream.
Instructions
Use a sheet of premade pie crust pie crust to line an 8-inch pie pan. Cut around the edge to remove any excess pie crust dough and set aside.
Place the lined pie pan into the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes, while you prepare the pie filling.
Place all the filling ingredients into a medium bowl and mix until thoroughly combined. Roll out the leftover dough, and cut into strips.
Spoon the apple mixture into the refrigerated pie crust.
Cut the butter into small pieces and dot over the top of the filling.
Lay the prepared strips of dough over the top of the pie alternating in a criss-cross pattern to make a lattice top. Optional: brush with glaze.
Place the apple pie in the air fryer basket, and air fry at 320F/ 160C for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling [Note 1].
Notes
The cooking time will vary depending on how powerful your air fryer is, as well as the exact ingredients used (size of the apple pieces etc), so if required air fry for additional 3-4 minute intervals until the pie is cooked.
