What do you need?

  • Dill – this recipe uses fresh dill leaves (aka dill weed), finely chopped. If fresh is not available, you can use dried dill weed instead, but add it gradually.
  • Mayonnaise is used as the base for this sauce. Choose a good quality one. You can use reduced fat but avoid fat-free versions.
  • Lemon – fresh is best, but bottled lemon juice works too. You can substitute lime juice.

How to make this simple dill mayonnaise

Making this sauce couldn’t be simpler

  1. First, finely chop the fresh dill. Chopping finely rather than coarsely will help distribute the herb evenly and infuse more flavor.
  2. Add the ingredients to a small bowl and whisk them together until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust lemon or dill to suit your preferences.
