These pizza scrolls are just like a pepperoni pizza, but portable! They are super easy to prepare using pre-made dough, and cook very quickly in the air fryer.
Best of all, kids love them, they are lunchbox-friendly, and you can freeze them, so make a big batch and get ahead of the game for when schools go back.

Ingredients Notes

Pizza dough
Premade refrigerated pizza dough (like Pillsbury) is the quickest option. Homemade pizza dough also works. Try my quick 3-ingredient pizza dough recipe if you need a simple homemade dough recipe.
Pizza sauce
Use your favorite pizza sauce (I like to use Mutti canned pizza sauce). Tomato paste can work too; season it with herbs such as oregano or basil if needed.
Cheese
Shredded mozzarella, cheddar, or another good melting cheese works well.
Toppings
Chop toppings finely so the dough can roll neatly. Pepperoni and mushrooms are easy options. For meat toppings, use cooked or ready-to-eat products.
How to make pizza pinwheels in the air fryer
1. Prepare the pizza.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a rough rectangle around 14×10 inches / 35×25 cm.
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a narrow strip along one long edge free of sauce. Add the cheese and finely chopped toppings.

2. Roll and slice.
Starting from the opposite long edge, roll the dough into a log. Press the clean edge gently to help seal it.
Preheat the air fryer to 320°F/160°C.
Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into 12 pieces about 1–1½ inches / 3 cm thick.

3. Air fry pizza pinwheels.
Place pizza scroll slices on a small air fryer-safe cookie sheet to stop the cheese from sticking to your air fryer basket, or use a small piece of baking paper if recommended for your air fryer.
Leave space around the pieces because they will expand during cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.

Air fry at 320°F/160°C for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Leftovers
Storing
Once cool, refrigerate the scrolls promptly in an airtight container and use within 3–4 days. They can also be frozen in a suitable freezer bag or container.
Reheating
For refrigerated leftovers, reheat 320°F/ 160°C until the center reaches 165°F/74°C. If reheating from frozen, thaw safely first.
