I absolutely love this slow cooker cream of mushroom chicken recipe! It’s the ultimate comfort food, and it’s so easy to make. The tender, juicy chicken just falls apart and combines perfectly with the rich, creamy mushroom sauce.

The best thing is I can throw everything into the slow cooker in the morning, go about my day, and come home to a delicious, hearty meal. Paired with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes it makes a satisfying dinner the whole family will enjoy.

What do you need?

  • Chicken breast, boneless skinless – you could substitute chicken thighs if you prefer.
  • Cream of mushroom soup – you can use low-sodium or gluten-free versions if preferred.
  • Chicken soup – you can substitute with an additional can of cream of mushroom soup for a richer mushroom flavour.
  • Seaonings – I use a simple seasoning mix of salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and a little chili powder. You can adjust the seasonings if you wish, add a little less or more chili powder to adjust the heat to your preference.
  • A slow cooker, crockpot, or multicooker with a slow cook setting.
