Air frying is a great way to cook, quick and easy, and virtually mess free. It is great for when you need a easy meal at short notice.

It uses way less oil than regular frying, for a healthy (yet still crispy) version of your favorite fried food. Though you can use an air fryer for so much more than frying, try grilling, broiling, baking and roasting.

Air frying tips:

  • To stop food sticking to the air fryer basket, add a quick spritz of oil before cooking. Note: it is best to avoid aerosol sprays and generic ‘cooking spray’ as these can damage the non-stick coating.
  • The best oil to use in an air fryer is one with a high smoke point. Try light olive oil, avocado oil or vegetable oil.
  • Do not add liquid oil to the air fryer, mix foods with oil and seasoning in a dish prior to placing it in the air fryer basket (don’t pour in the excess oil that remains in the bowl).
  • Some air fryers need to food to be flipped over during cooking, so check your manual to see if this is needed if you are unsure.
